M. Schumacher can’t cope with NASCAR – Montoya

Former grand prix winner Juan Pablo Montoya has hit back at Michael Schumacher after the retired seven time world champion belittled the NASCAR series.

Colombian Montoya, who is this week testing for the Daytona 500 after switching from McLaren in 2006, reckons the 38-year-old German wouldn’t be able to cope with stock car racing.

Schumacher told the New York Times last weekend: “What do you do in NASCAR? What is exciting there?”

Montoya reacted by insisting that NASCAR is harder than it appears to F1 insiders.

“Just take (Schumacher) to (the) Homestead (oval) and tell him to stay half a second off the pace,” the 31-year-old is quoted as saying by AP.

“He would have a heart attack.”
