Montoya’s NASCAR debut reminds of F1 days

Juan Pablo Montoya started his first Nextel Cup race in the NASCAR series from 29th place and clawed his way up the field to as high as 13th.

His race came to an abrupt end 15 laps from the finish, however, in a spectacular, fiery crash. This time though, he could not be blamed – he was hit from behind, causing him to crash into the wall. He escaped without injury.

The crash delayed the race for almost eight minutes as the organisers cleaned the track.

Greg Biffle won the Homestead race, while Montoya was officially classified 34th.
