There is a strong expecation that Paul Stoddart, who sold the Minardi F1 team to Dietrich Mateschitz, will announce today that he has purchased a Champ Car team. Stoddart retained the well-known Minardi name and is tipped to take the name to the Champ Car series.
Champ Car has arranged a conference for what it calls “an ownership announcement regarding one of its teams”, and it is believed that, at this conference, Stoddart will announce his purchase of the CTE Racing-HVM team.
