Spyker rookie Adrian Sutil says he is not concerned about the saga involving Giedo van der Garde.
Dutchman van der Garde is presently the subject of a contractual dispute between Spyker and Super Aguri, for whom he originally signed to become a test driver in 2007.
Perhaps explaining Spyker’s subsequent aggressive grab at van der Garde, it has emerged that his girlfriend’s father may be involved in the consortium that bought the Midland team last year.
Moreover, the Dutch investor may now be looking to increase his financial involvement with the Silverstone based squad, perhaps through a sponsorship deal.
With that in mind, German Sutil might be forgiven for feeling a little insecure in the seat alongside Christijan Albers, despite reportedly having a ‘long term contract’ with the team.
“I haven’t heard that rumour,” the 24-year-old admitted to adrivo.com, “but I am not worried.
“The team signed me because of my achievements, and if money was the only factor for the team they could have kept Mr. (Tiago) Monteiro.”
