Trio eye 2007 seat at Spyker

The seat alongside Christijan Albers at Spyker for next year is shaping up as a three-driver fight.

The Dutchman’s current MF1 teammate, Tiago Monteiro, is confident of retaining the ride, despite the apparent strong challenges of Red Bull refugee Christian Klien, and hopeful German Adrian Sutil.

”I’m still optimistic,” said Sutil, according to Focus Online.

”My manager and my main sponsor have already met with (team owner) Michiel Mol.”

Portugal’s Monteiro, meanwhile, is quoted by Sky Sports as insisting that he, too, is in talks with the Silverstone based squad.

He said of Mol and Spyker: ”They have been pretty clear that they want to keep the driver lineup the same (next year) and get one single test driver.”
