Ferrari-clad Raikkonen appears in Italy

For the first time, Kimi Raikkonen on Tuesday appeared in red clothing for the start of his new Ferrari career.

The 27-year-old Finn, who between 2001 and last year raced for Sauber and McLaren, arrived by helicopter from his house in Switzerland for the annual ‘Wroom’ event for the specialist media at Madonna di Campiglio; a ski resort in Trentino.

Wearing a red and white Ferrari-branded jacket and cap, Raikkonen posed for a photograph in front of a sporty Fiat Brava, and will on Wednesday live up to his nickname ‘the iceman’ by hitting the Italian slopes on a snowboard.

He will then front a press conference, and the word from Italy is that Jean Todt’s new ‘assistant’, the retired seven time world champion Michael Schumacher, might also show his face before the end of the week.

Todt, meanwhile – the Maranello based team’s CEO and boss – was not seen at Madonna di Campiglio on Tuesday as he worked on the upcoming launch and test debut of the 2007 car.
