World champion Fernando Alonso’s new company car is worth more than $600,000.
The Spaniard has taken delivery of a Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722, which – like Alonso’s MP4-22 – was assembled at the team’s Woking base.
He calls it the “prettiest car in the world”, but the ‘722’ also produces 650 horse power and a top speed of 337kph.
For daily use around his Oxford home, however, 25-year-old Alonso said he will drive a more sedate $80,000 CLS.
