Alonso Takes the Pole.

In the dying minutes of qualifying World Champion Fernando Alonso snatched the top spot from Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher. To add to the former champions misery, McLarens Kimi Raikkonen’s took second to demote Schumacher to the second row.
Felipe Massa managed to put the second Ferrari into 4th position to make an all Red second row. Giancarlo Fisichella (Renault) & Rubens Barrichello (Honda) share the third row.
Barrichello’s performance will be especially satisfying for the Brazilian as his team mate Jenson Button had a troubled run to record only 19th best in his Honda.
