Jul.20 (GMM) Red Bull has reportedly rejected an offer worth up to $3 billion for its second Formula 1 team Racing Bulls.
“Red Bull spurns $3bn Abu Dhabi-backed bid for Racing Bulls F1 team,” The Times reported.
According to the British newspaper, the approach was led by US-based investor Dean Attew and financier Andrew Herriot, with backing from several Abu Dhabi-based investment funds.
Attew has previously been described as a former adviser to former Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone and was involved in discussions surrounding the sport’s commercial ownership before Liberty Media acquired Formula 1 in 2016.
However, neither Red Bull nor the reported bidders have publicly confirmed the approach, meaning the proposed transaction and its rejection remain unconfirmed.
Racing Bulls remains a central part of Red Bull’s unusual two-team structure, allowing young drivers to gain Formula 1 experience before potentially graduating to the senior team.
Max Verstappen and current Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar both passed through the Faenza-based operation, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad now form Racing Bulls’ 2026 lineup.
The latest report follows earlier claims that Red Bull had already rejected approaches valuing the team at around $2 billion to $2.3 billion.
