Klien would ‘welcome’ Honda deal

Mere hours after Honda confirmed its interest in signing Christian Klien as a test driver, the Red Bull refugee says he would ‘welcome’ a deal with the Japanese marque.

“Honda is one of the most successful companies in the history of motor racing,” the 23-year-old Austrian was quoted as saying by ORF.

“Naturally I would welcome working for such a successful and ambitious team.”

The test driver post at Brackley based Honda would be vacated by the probably Super Aguri-bound Anthony Davidson. Klien has also been linked with the vacant Spyker race seat alongside Christijan Albers, and travelled to the recent Brazilian grand prix for meetings with both teams.
