‘Alarm bells’ for Ferrari – headline

The headline of the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday encapsulated a growing fear among scarlet-clad supporters — ‘Ferrari, campanello d’allarme’.

It means ‘Ferrari, alarm bell’.

Following Felipe Massa’s lap-one breakdown at Barcelona, his teammate Kimi Raikkonen was later grounded in the garage with another electronic defect.

Huge grey clouds congregated above the Circuit de Catalunya around lunch time, and the racing line did not dry until just after 3pm.

Bringing out red flags were Fernando Alonso, who stopped in the Wurth corner, and Red Bull’s Mark Webber. Also causing a stoppage was Robert Kubica, as BMW deliberated ran his fuel tank dry, and Rubens Barrichello, who ran into the gravel trap.
