Christijan Albers has admitted to struggling to adapt to Bridgestone’s new control tyre.

The Dutch driver was considerably off the pace of his rookie teammate Adrian Sutil at the Australian season opener, and crashed out of the race after admitting to missing a braking point by 30 metres.

“I just have to stay relaxed and find out what the problem is,” Albers said in an interview published by the Spyker team.

He added: “It’s just me that has to get used to everything. I think the others are maybe adapting a little bit quicker to these tyres.

“Now it’s only a question of Christijan Albers feeling comfortable again, and getting a reasonable set-up where he can perform.”
