In a recent statement to the Spanish Merca Newspaper, Pedro de la Rosa has predicted a difficult season for countryman Fernando Alonso.
De La Rosa, currently a test driver at McLaren and thus likely to be working closely with the current world champion come 2007, said that Fernando faces a “very political season”.
Says De La Rosa: “It will be interesting to note what equipment he is given and what support he receives. One thing however is for sure – Fernando will give everything he has.”
The paddock waits with bated breath to see how Giancarlo Fisichella will fare against his Spanish team-mate in ’06, compared with last season…
