Bernie Ecclestone says he is still in charge of Formula One despite CVC Capital Partners’ acquisition last year of his stake in the sport.
The 75-year-old, who has run the premier motor racing category since the 80s, told financial news agency Bloomberg that he is given a ‘free hand’ by the London-based buyout group.
Ecclestone insisted that he is ‘still CEO’ of F1’s operating companies while CVC ‘hasn’t touched anything’.
“Not a thing,” the diminutive Briton clarified.
