BMW-Sauber has indicated
that formula one teams and sole 2007 tyre supplier Bridgestone have agreed to stage an extra winter test.
Some grand prix outfits were concerned that only two tests in December had been scheduled by the Japanese supplier at Jerez, but BMW’s post race press release from Sao Paulo revealed that another three-day session is now planned in Spain.
The extra test will take place at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya between November 28-30, which will be a relief to those teams switching from departing supplier Michelin.
Bridgestone’s director of motor sport Hiroshi Yasukawa said: “Our challenge and commitment continues for next year and beyond where we aim to supply safe tyres, fairly.”
