BMW-Sauber wants to charge for its first grand prix victory in 2008, team boss Mario Theissen said on Sunday.

The German squad’s motor sport director revealed to reporters at the ‘World Finals’ event at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia that the current goal ‘is to have a package with which we can go for victories in 2008’.

BMW announced on Monday that, in the same city in Spain, the 2007-specification ‘F1.07′ single seater will be unveiled and tested for the first time on January 16 — the day after McLaren-Mercedes’ Valencia launch.

After the BMW-Sauber launch, the car will make its track debut ‘later in the day’, a statement said. The launch itself will begin at 9am at the ‘Feria de Valencia’ hotel.
