BMW’s Mario Theissen says he is “happy” that the Williams team looks likely to bounce back in 2007.
With Theissen in charge, the German manufacturer worked with Williams as a works engine partner between 2000 and 2005, until BMW bought Sauber.
BMW and Grove based Williams’ split was also far from amicable, and while BMW-Sauber made strides of progress the team led by Sir Frank Williams endured arguably its most difficult season since inception last year.
BMW motor sport director Theissen said of Williams’ winter off-season: “They have looked strong in testing and that makes me happy, because last year for them was a disaster.
“The fact that things go better at Williams can only be good for the whole of formula one,” Theissen told sport1.de
