Brawn criticises Hamilton race strategy

Nov.2 (GMM) Ross Brawn has criticised the fuel strategy with which Lewis Hamilton qualified just fourth for the decisive Brazilian grand prix

The McLaren driver must finish just fifth to be crowned world champion on Sunday, but Brawn – renowned as the cleverest strategy brain on the pitwall – doubts the wisdom of fuelling Hamilton for the second row of the most important grid of his career

McLaren team boss Ron Dennis labelled Ferrari’s alternate approach as possibly the result of “aggressive race strategies”

But Honda team boss Brawn told reporters: “The safest place to start from is right at the front

“The McLaren is fast enough to get far enough in front with a short first stint not to drop not too far back into the field after the pitstop.”n
