Brazil: First free practice – Kimi Dominates

Two “third” drivers, Davidson and Wurz, battled it out for supremacy in the majority of the first free practice session in Brazil until Kimi Raikkonen burst in and stamped his authority on the session in the last five minutes. Raikkonen, who has alsways been quick at Interlagos and holds the lap record at this circuit, came out in the last five minutes and was immediately quick.

Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, the only two title protagonists, played it safe – Alonso completing one installation lap and the Ferrari driver not going out on track once. The majority of the field did the same completed one lap only, or stayed in the pits.
