Flavio Briatore, teammanager of the Renault F1 Team, has no plans to leave Formula 1 after winning the drivers’ championship with Fernando Alonso this year. The contract between Briatore and Renault expires at the end of 2006.
“I don’t want to be talking about what we do in the future, for the moment I enjoy very much this team”, said Flavio Briatore. “We have built the team up from 2001 and Fernando is a big actor in this new movie that we made together and we have fun in the team.”
“The atmosphere in our team is fantastic and this kind of job you do, you have to feel you are doing the best for the team and the moment you feel you don’t have the motivation any more, you give up because it takes a lot of time, a lot of energy, but I enjoy it. I enjoy the people, Renault is a brand, it is the people that make the team, it is not the brand, and I enjoy the team very, very much. It is a very special team.”
