Ralf Schumacher has denied that Renault team principal Flavio Briatore could solve Toyota’s lack of F1 form.
Despite not having the biggest budget available to him, flamboyant 56-year-old Briatore presided over Fernando Alonso’s title feats in 2005 and 2006 and in the 90s guided a young Michael Schumacher to championship success with the Benetton team.
But asked if a Briatore-brand of management was the missing link at Toyota, where the annual expenditure is estimated at a mind boggling $525 million, Schumacher answered: “No.
“A one-man show would be inconceivable for the Toyota philosophy.”
