British drivers Jenson Button and Anthony Davidson have received awards from the leading formula one magazine, F1 Racing.
According to Brackley based Honda, the English pair – respectively the team’s official race and test drivers in 2006 – were named among the magazine’s ‘Man Of The Year’ plaudits.
50,000 voters settled that Button’s breakthrough win in Hungary was the ‘Drive Of The Year’, while Davidson – who debuted as Super Aguri’s new race driver at the Barcelona test on Tuesday – is 2006’s ‘Friday Driver Of The Year’.
After winning more than 50 per cent of the vote, Davidson said: “It’s really great to actually win something even though I wasn’t racing.
“And to be matched against guys like Alex (Wurz) is a fantastic achievement for me.”
