Button to keep lid on Honda hype

Jenson Button has vowed to keep the lid on expectations for the 2007 season, having this year failed to deliver on a promise to challenge for the title.

The Briton secured his maiden victory at August’s Hungarian grand prix, but the Honda squad finished the constructors’ battle in just fourth place.

“Hopefully I am not going to say too much like we did last season in the winter,” 27-year-old Button, whose teammate next season will again be Rubens Barrichello, was quoted as saying by Sporting Life.

“It didn’t quite work out as we expected to. But we are looking forward to being on the top step of the podium again.”
