David Coulthard and Alex Wurz literally hugged and made up in the Albert Park paddock after a scary coming together during the Australian GP.

Austrian Wurz’s helmeted head almost bore the brunt of Coulthard’s flying Red Bull at Albert Park after the veteran Scot tried an impossible overtaking move at turn 3.

“My fault,” Coulthard said. “I went to deep into the corner and you can’t blame Alex for that.”

Shortly after both giving the brief interviews, the pair met, shared a joke, a handshake and a manly hug.

“He apologised,” Williams’ Wurz said, “David as we know is a gentleman, fair gesture, but it doesn’t really help my race or my team.

“All I felt is the impact and then the car landed on me.”
