Anthony Davidson is expected to be fit enough to test and race at the Sepang circuit.
The Briton stayed overnight in a Melbourne hospital after last Sunday’s race, but Super Aguri on Tuesday confirmed that he was not seriously injured in the clash with fellow rookie, Spyker’s Adrian Sutil.
Davidson, 27, sustained a slight upper torso muscular injury and will undergo a fitness assessment this weekend before flying to Malaysia for next week’s pre-GP test, the Japanese squad said.
Davidson’s father Denis, meanwhile, revealed that his son had “various tests” in the Alfred hospital, but insisted: “The injury is not thought to be too serious.”
