McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa will this year commentate at all grands prix for Spain’s F1 broadcaster Telecinco.
The 36-year-old said: “If I cannot race then commentating is the next best thing.”
De la Rosa, however, insisted that his real objective is to return to the grand prix grid in 2008, after missing out on the seat alongside Fernando Alonso for this year to GP2 champion and rookie Lewis Hamilton.
The Spanish news agency EFE quoted him as saying: “If I do not have a racing position in 2008 it will become very difficult for me to ever return.”
