Oct.10 (GMM) A spokesperson for the British circuit Donington on Saturday would not confirm that funding is not in place for the 2010 British grand prix.

It emerged earlier that track boss Simon Gillett had missed Bernie Ecclestone’s latest deadline for the finances to be in place.

Multiple reports said the F1 chief executive has indicated that Monday is now Donington’s final opportunity to come up with the money for the refurbishments at the Leicestershire venue.

The Financial Times quoted a Donington official as saying: “There hasn’t been confirmation that funding is not in place. We hope to be able to clarify the situation very soon.”
