Robert Doornbos’ contract stipulates that he must test at least six times for Red Bull Racing in 2007.
The Dutch racer’s spokesman, Jeroen Vermeeren, confirmed the information to f1today.nl, which also reported that 25-year-old Doornbos is now working with German rally legend Christian Geistdorfer after splitting with long time manager Marco Zecchi.
Doornbos is currently in America where he is preparing to test for the Champ Car team Minardi. An announcement about the race drive is expected soon.
Referring to the Red Bull contract, Doornbos’ spokesman said: “I cannot discuss its precise duration but it covers a longer term period.”
