Red Bull test driver Robert Doornbos has split with his long time manager, according to reports in Holland.
Under the guidance of Italian Marco Zecchi, the 25-year-old Dutchman signed test and race deals with Minardi and Red Bull.
But to coincide with his imminent move into America’s Champ Car scene, which is not an area of Zecchi’s expertise, he will now be solely managed by businessman Harry Muermans.
Muermans was already Doornbos’ chief backer.
Zecchi’s contract has been terminated following a financial settlement, the magazine Formule 1 RaceReport said.
