Yesterday`s brakes failure during Belgium Grand Prix ended Kimi Raikkonen`s record of number of Grand Prix’s with points in a row. It was first Finn retirement since German Grand Prix in 2009.

Lotus` driver scored points in 27 consecutive races and beat Michael Schumacher’ record established between Hungarian Grand Prix in 2001 and Malaysian Grand Prix in 2003. In that time Schumacher won 14 races and scored 21 podiums. His worst position was 6th place in Malaysia 2003.

Raikkonen started his series with a 2nd place in Bahrain in 2012. Finn during that 27 races won in Abu Dhabi in 2012 and Australia 2013 and 11 times was on podium. Since his return to F1 in 2012, he didn`t score points only once – in China 2012.

However, it’s good to know, that Schumacher`s record (24 consecutive finishes in points) have been set when only 8 drivers was scoring points on the finish. Raikkonen in his last 28 races was 4 times on 9th or 10th place.

In addition, Raikkonen was on finish in his last 38 races in Formula 1 (including 8 finishes in 2009 with Ferrari). This series also stopped at Spa.
