Unsurprisingly, Ferrari has emerged as the overwhelming favourite to wrest the 2007 constructors’ and drivers’ championships from the grasp of Renault.
With the Italian squad’s pre-season dominance confirmed in the Australian season opener, the popular German daily ‘Bild-Zeitung’ published the results of a poll showing that 73 per cent of F1 fans believe the red team will triumph this year for the first time since 2004.
McLaren netted 14 per cent of the vote, and BMW-Sauber 7%, while voters are still hopeful that Felipe Massa can deliver the goods this year by taking 36 per cent of the vote regarding ’07’s likely drivers’ champion.
Melbourne winner Kimi Raikkonen’s chances attracted 29 per cent, and Fernando Alonso 11%.
