Ross Brawn will not switch to another team at least until he has attended a mid-season meeting with Ferrari chiefs next year, according to Luca di Montezemolo.
The Ferrari president said at Monza that Briton Brawn, who has stepped down as technical director, decided to take a break because he is ‘tired and stressed’.
Montezemolo told Italian sports daily ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’: “He will meet with us half way through 2007 and in the meantime I can rule out that he goes to another team.”
Additional speculation doubts that Brawn would resume Ferrari’s technical directorship should he wish to return in 2008 and beyond. In that scenario, the 51-year-old might accept an offer elsewhere in pit lane.
Mario Almondo is his successor.
