Fisi hopes for better Michelin tyres

Giancarlo Fisichella says he hopes Renault does not, like last year, encounter another tyre problem on the Monaco streets.

In the 2005 fixture, the Roman and his teammate Fernando Alonso languished several seconds off the pace after their Michelin boots wore severely.

”We had big problems at this track,” Fisichella told his Gazzetta dello Sport column.

He added: ”Hopefully our Michelin tyres behave better this year.”

The 33-year-old Italian also revealed that he is suffering from a cold in Monaco, but it did not stop him scoring three goals in the F1 drivers’ football match this week.

”My whole family is here to watch me race,” Fisichella, with his yacht ‘Fizzy’ moored near the Tabac corner, added.

McLaren rival Juan Pablo Montoya’s boat, similarly named ‘Monty’, is moored nearby.gmmf1 dailyf1news.com
