Oct.20 (GMM) UK soccer’s governing Football League on Tuesday said it will wait on the outcome of Flavio Briatore’s court action against the FIA before making its own decision about the future of the disgraced former Renault boss.

Briatore, 59, is still a director and co-owner of the London club Queens Park Rangers, after being banned for life by F1’s governing body for his involvement in the crash-gate scandal.

The Italian has this week commenced legal action against the FIA, and his bid to overturn his ban on running teams or managing drivers is likely to also have an impact on his future involvement in football.

“The Football League will await the court decision before taking any further action,” read a media statement.
