Fry rejects criticism after new Honda fault

Team principal Nick Fry rejected as “harsh” observations in the media that Honda got off to a typically unreliable start with its new ‘RA107’ car.

Jenson Button now famously ground to a halt at Circuit de Catalunya within a few corners of his Thursday debut in the 2007 machine, prompting the German publication ‘Focus’ to headline that the all-black car is ‘Unpainted and broken’.

Fry, however, insisted that Thursday was actually the RA107’s third day on a test track and told f1grandprix.it: “This morning a wire came off the gearbox, something that can be fixed very easily. So no big deal.”

Honda continue running on Friday.
