GP2 champion Glock nears F1 return

Newly crowned GP2 champion Timo Glock says he is in promising talks with three competitive teams about returning to formula one next year.

The 24-year-old German, who briefly raced for Jordan in 2004, has in 2007 been the frontrunner of F1’s feeder category that was dominated last year by likely rookie world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Glock is now considered favourite to replace Ralf Schumacher at Toyota, but he is also known to have been in talks with Williams.

“There are details that have to be clarified, but not big things — nothing difficult,” he is quoted as saying by the magazine Kicker.

“I expect a decision around the time of the last race, on October 21 in Brazil,” he added.
