Hamilton explains yellow helmet

Lewis Hamilton has contradicted suggestions that his bright yellow helmet is a homage to his childhood hero Ayrton Senna.

“Dad wanted me to have a bright-coloured helmet because he was so nervous when I was on the track,” the McLaren rookie and GP2 champion said on Tuesday.

Briton Hamilton, 22, added: “With yellow, he was able to spot me half a mile away!”
