Hamilton looking good for Montreal

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton is hot on the wheels of runaway championship leader Sebastian Vettel for victory at this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, reports Paddy Power.

This weekend’s Canadian GP not surprisingly sees Vettel a short-priced favourite for the chequered flag at 7/5 but McLaren’s recent pace and development see’s Hamilton not far behind at 2/1. Of the other front runners fellow world champions Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button are 13/2 and 8/1, respectively.

But such has been Vettel’s dominance this season possibly the best price on offer this weekend is the Vettel hat-trick (pole, fastest lap and race win) at 15/2.

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “Vettel marches on but the McLaren’s seem confident and Hamilton’s odds are the closest they’ve been to Vettel for a race win for quite a while.”

Close Race In Best Of The Rest
Having already paid out on Vettel winning this year’s Championship, a position only further reinforced with his victory in Monaco, Paddy Power are now betting on the best of the rest this season without the Red Bull number one. Lewis Hamilton leads the way at 7/4, just ahead of Alonso and Webber at 9/4 with Jenson Button at 9/2.

Paddy Power has also suspended betting on the Bahrain GP taking place following ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone’s change of heart.
