A visibly elated Felipe Massa said he couldn’t believe he snared pole position at Monaco, but Nick Heidfeld was equally surprised – but much less impressed – about his 13th grid spot, after demonstrating pace a full second slower than his on-form BMW teammate Robert Kubica.
“I am very disappointed,” the German said. “I can’t even remember the last time I was not in the top ten and now we have to find out why.”
