A couple more observers have outlined their belief that Michael Schumacher will bridge the 11-point gap to title rival Fernando Alonso before Brazil’s season finale.
”I would bet money on it,” BMW-Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld was quoted as saying in Budapest by ‘Sport Information Dienst’ agency.
Ferrari’s Schumacher, vying for his eighth and possibly final championship, has beaten his Renault rival in the past three grands prix.
”Renault were very weak at Hockenheim,” the German added, ”which I do not completely understand.”
Red Bull team owner Dietrich Mateschitz, meanwhile, told ‘Bietigheimer Zeitung’ newspaper that Schumacher is in a ‘class of his own’ as a driver.
He explained: ”Secondly he has an outstanding Ferrari and a clear advantage with Bridgestone tyres.
”But the most important thing is that we should have an exciting end to the championship.”gmmf1 dailyf1news.com
