Honda has promoted from within to fill the void left by departed aerodynamicist Willem Todt, who went to BMW-Sauber.

The Brackley-based team announced on Wednesday that Mariano Alperin-Bruvera will now be known as ‘chief aerodynamicist’, as a new wind tunnel prepares to launch into action.

40-year-old Alperin-Bruvera, originally from Argentina, joined the team, formerly known as BAR, at its inception in 1998 after a four-year spell at Minardi.
