Honda push Davidson for Super Aguri seat

Honda principal Nick Fry has vowed to help British countryman Anthony Davidson to finally secure a full-time race seat in 2007, probably for the Super Aguri team.

Davidson, the diminutive 27-year-old test driver, has long been linked with a move to the fledgling Japanese squad, and Fry promised to do his ‘absolute best’ to seal the deal.

”That’s what Anthony deserves. He has worked with us for several years now as a test driver and done a brilliant job.

”He does deserve a chance,” Fry told ITV.

Leafield based Super Aguri is not just powered by Honda engines but part of a closer tie-in with the Japanese car making giant.

The possibility of Davidson moving to the small team next year is reportedly also supported by Honda racing president Yasuhiro Wada, while Aguri Suzuki has publicly admitted that the Briton’s vast experience would be welcomed.
