Narain Karthikeyan will return to the A1GP circuit after this weekend’s Sydney race, it has emerged.
The 30-year-old debuted impressively for ‘Team India’ in New Zealand earlier this month, but has to sit out the subsequent round in Australia because it clashes with the launch of Williams’ new formula one car for 2007.
Karthikeyan is an official test driver for the Oxfordshire squad.
“Unfortunately Narain has to head for the UK this weekend,” said Team India’s Yohann Setna, “but the good news is that he will race for us in the four subsequent rounds.”
After Australia, A1 heads to Durban, Mexico City, Shanghai and Brands Hatch.
