Christian Klien stood to earn nearly (US) $2 million in the Champ Car category next year, according to press reports.
The figure is unsubstantiated, but Red Bull’s racing advisor Dr. Helmut Marko did confirm that Klien’s rejected offer involved the same annual retainer as the Austrian driver earned in F1.
And Marko told Motor Sport Aktuell: ”Including prize money, he even could have earned more over there.”
