BMW-Sauber test driver Christian Klien is getting set to step up his preparation for the famous Le Mans 24 hour race.

Arriving in the Monte Carlo paddock to continue his role as BMW’s F1 reserve driver, the 25-year-old admitted that his recent focus has also been on Le Mans.

Klien, an Austrian, said he came to Monaco direct from France, where he has been taking part in Peugeot’s Le Mans training camp.

“Immediately after Monaco I have two days of testing for Le Mans,” he explained, “another two F1 test days with BMW-Sauber in Italy, before I head to Le Mans for the first time at the end of May.”

Peugeot’s Le Mans lineup includes a plethora of other F1 names, including Alex Wurz, Franck Montagny, Jacques Villeneuve and Ricardo Zonta.
