Heikki Kovalainen says he is hoping to forge a long career at the Renault team.
The Finn, who is an official test driver in 2006, is to replace likely twice world champion Fernando Alonso at the end of the year.
And Kovalainen, 25, told Setanta Sports: “For me, it’s like another family and I hope I can stay until the end of my career with Renault.”
