Lenovo confirm major Williams deal

Confirmation from the Williams team is still lacking, but local media are reporting that the Chinese computer giant Lenovo has penned a major sponsorship deal for 2007.

Despite the Grove based squad’s new AT&T title sponsorship, Lenovo signage will be the most significant on Williams’ FW29 livery, with decals on the sidepods and rear wing.

China Radio International speculated that the agreement might be comparable to HP’s annually $40m deal in 2005.

Meanwhile, Williams on Tuesday announced that Swiss watchmaker Oris has renewed its on-car sponsorship deal for another season.

Now with a logo on the front end plates and the drivers’ gloves, Oris joined the team in 2003.
