Malaysian GP venue Sepang is hoping that its first ever formula one test in late March becomes an annual occurrence.
Mainly to plug the troublesome three week gap between the Australian and Malaysian grands prix early this season, all eleven teams will test in the southeast Asian country between March 27 and 29.
“We are working closely to turn these sessions into an annual affair,” the circuit’s general manager Datuk Ahmad Mustafa told the local newspaper The Star, adding that Malaysia will also benefit from the publicity of the additional F1 activity at Sepang.
He said: “Malaysia will have nothing to lose because the teams are coming here at their own expense.”
