Felipe Massa crashed his Ferrari without setting a time on Friday in the opening practice session at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Brazilian went off and into the barriers at the Rivage corner, as did Toro Rosso’s Vitantonio Liuzzi a bit later.
Massa’s teammate Kimi Raikkonen set a blistering pace in the 90-minute session, staged in dry and slightly cool weather.
