Jan.11 (GMM) McLaren’s 2010 car will reportedly be unveiled the week before it makes its test debut in Valencia at the beginning of February.
The British team announced a week ago that the MP4-25 will join the action in the hands of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton at the first group test of the pre-season at the Ricardo Tormo circuit.
The Mirror newspaper on Monday said McLaren “will unveil their new car” in “a little over a fortnight”. The Valencia test kicks off in 20 days.
“I’m excited,” said 2008 world champion Hamilton. “I can’t wait to see the new car and test it.”
He said he will work with his British countryman and new teammate Button to make the single seater as competitive as possible.
“Only once we’ve achieved that can we start looking at winning races and then, eventually, the world championship,” said the 25-year-old.
“Jenson and I will be sharing pre-season testing equally, and it will be important to keep a crossover of information between us to make sure we are both pulling in the right direction,” added Hamilton.
